With 2009 gone and a new iPhone in my hand, I wanted to put together some services / apps that I think Im going rely on and use more and more over the coming year. Some of these Ive used before but Im just now starting to discover the value in it, or other things that are new on my plate.

Ive got fancy top of the line $1500 DSLR with flashes, lenses, and fliters, but in the few weeks Ive had my iPhone Ive taken and shared more photos from it then my heavy gear. “The best camera, is the one you have with you” this saying is growing truer every day for me. I love photography but dragging around my big camera just isnt practical for many situations. Im still amped I can take a photo, upload it to twitpic or flickr, and share it. These sites have completely removed any barrier to entry for me to get back on my photography kick.
gdgt.com
Ive been listening to the gdgt podcast since it first launched, but not until a week ago did I ever actually tryout the site. gdgt is like a social network based around gadgets and technology, and its totally awsome. WIth a very niche community the comments and discussion are generally far better then anywhere else. So its a much better experience, and for the first time in years Ive actually commented on a discussion, and am having meaning full interaction online. And theres something very addicting about adding items to your want, have, and had lists.
flight control / geodefense / spider / myst / etc…
This is another case of the best thing to for gaming is the thing you have with you. Lugging around my ds isnt practical in the least for most of my day to day activities, so my iphones stepped in a filled a big hole in my gaming. Alot of companies are still coming to terms about how to create titles for it (NOTE: adding a control onto the screen doesnt work, stop doing it) but some standout titles like spider and flight control have consumed amazing amounts of my time. Also being able to revisit Myst and Monkey Island while waiting in line is a good feeling.
Ive decided to breakout on my own and found my own web development studio. Im putting my other projects on hold, for now and focusing on what I do best, programme. My development focus is on building sites that are completely manageable by the client, and make sites that enhance your company and dont just act as a information guide. You can email or twitter me to setup an appointment or get a quote on a project.
